Meet Dr. Lofley & Team:
Holistic Family DPC Physician in Hendersonville, TN
Why I founded Blue Ocean DPC

I decided to become a Family Medicine doctor to build long-lasting relationships with my patients, treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. But the conventional, insurance-driven system created a constant, painful disconnect: hurried office visits, care decisions dictated by administrators and insurance companies, and a mountain of paperwork. I knew there had to be a better way.
That’s why I founded Blue Ocean Direct Primary Care (DPC) in Hendersonville: to deliver the transparent, personalized, and accessible healthcare you and your family need. I promise to listen fully, to respect your time, and to partner with you so you are empowered to succeed on your journey to wellness.

Our Team

Tara Lofley – Co-Founder and CEO
Tara has been the strategic and operational heart of Blue Ocean Direct Primary Care since its founding. As CEO, she oversees clinic operations, drives the practice’s employer partnership strategy through Blue Ocean Employer Benefits, and has shaped the brand, culture, and patient experience that makes Blue Ocean distinctive. Tara holds a Master of Business Administration from Utah State University and brings both the analytical rigor of an MBA and the relational intelligence of someone who genuinely loves people to everything she builds.
When she is not growing a healthcare enterprise, Tara can be found singing, improvising in the kitchen, playing the piano, and gaming with her kids. She has an endearing love for symphonic and 80s music, an uncanny ability to pick out a perfect watermelon, and she always knows where she parked. She has been married to Dr. Lofley for 25 years — which means she has also survived being married to a physician-entrepreneur, which may be her most impressive credential of all..
