A: Yes, you can join Blue Ocean DPC if you have Medicare. We do not bill Medicare for our monthly membership fee since we have formally opted out of Medicare. Instead, you pay your membership fee directly to us. However, you can still use your Medicare benefits outside of our office—for example, for labs, imaging, specialist visits, hospital services, and prescription medications.
Q: Can I use TennCare (Medicaid) at Blue Ocean DPC?
A: No, TennCare cannot be used at Blue Ocean DPC. Because Dr. Lofley is not enrolled as a TennCare provider, your membership fee is not covered by TennCare. In addition, TennCare will not pay for labs, imaging, specialist visits, or medications ordered through our office. To use TennCare benefits, patients must see a TennCare-enrolled provider.

A: Blue Ocean DPC is a membership model, meaning we don’t bill insurance for our services. However, you can still use your insurance for specialty care, imaging, prescriptions and labs done outside of our office. HSA’s can be used for monthly memberships.
